Your recitation is between you and Allah. It should stay that way.
This Privacy Policy explains what information QuraLYT collects, why it may be collected, and how it is protected. We designed QuraLYT around a simple principle: collect as little information as possible while still providing a reliable experience.
For the free Core experience, we do not collect your reading activity, recitation history, bookmarks, or personal usage behaviour. When optional cloud features become available in future Pro or Elite accounts, only the information required to provide those features will be processed. We believe you should always know what information is collected, why it is collected, and how it is used.
Who is behind the scene
QuraLYT is created and operated by LYTDesign™ in Norway. We are responsible for developing, maintaining, securing, and improving the services provided through QuraLYT.
Where We Are Based
LYTDesign™ operates from Norway and follows applicable Norwegian privacy legislation together with GDPR requirements across the European Economic Area.
Our Responsibilities
We are responsible for protecting personal information, responding to privacy requests, maintaining appropriate security measures, and handling any information transparently and lawfully.
The short answer
The free Core experience is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not collect your recitation history, reading progress, bookmarks, personal notes, or behavioural analytics.
What stays on your device, and only your device:
Reading Position
Where you left off, stored locally.
Bookmarks
Saved verses and pages, on device.
App Preferences
Your settings, never synced anywhere.
Display Settings
Theme and reading view choices.
Accessibility Preferences
Font size, contrast, and similar settings.
What we do not collect, in the Core experience or otherwise:
Personal Identity Information
No name, email, or account required to use the app.
Behavioural Tracking Data
No logs of how or when you use the app.
Advertising Profiles
No profile of you exists anywhere.
Device Fingerprinting
Your device is never identified or tracked.
Location Tracking
We never ask for or read your location.
Marketing Analytics
No analytics are used for marketing purposes.
QuraLYT does not use advertising networks, behavioural profiling, or third party tracking technologies within the Core experience.
Protect Your Information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any information entrusted to us.
Be Transparent
We explain clearly what information is collected, why it is needed, and how it is handled.
Respect Your Rights
Where personal information is processed, you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of it, as required by GDPR.
Never Sell Data
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertising companies.
Improve Security
We continuously review our systems, procedures, and practices to improve security and reliability.
If you choose to contact us through the website, we may receive:
Information You Provide
Your name, email address, and the message you send.
Why We Use It
Solely to respond to your enquiry, provide support, or address your request.
Retention
Messages are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the enquiry.
No Marketing Lists
Contact form submissions are never added to advertising or marketing databases.

Data Requests
Requests relating to access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information may be submitted using the same address.
Respect for worship
QuraLYT is built with the understanding that Qur'an recitation and reflection are deeply personal acts of worship, deserving of respect and discretion.
Privacy Before Features
Privacy is considered during planning, design, and development, rather than added later.
Minimal Collection
We aim to collect only the information necessary to provide the services you request.
No Hidden Tracking
We do not build advertising profiles, behavioural profiles, or engagement scores.
No Sale of Information
Your information is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to the following. To exercise any of these rights, email info@lytdesign.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Right to Access
Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. (Art. 15 GDPR)
Right to Rectification
Request correction of inaccurate personal data. (Art. 16 GDPR)
Right to Erasure
Request deletion of your personal data. (Art. 17 GDPR)
Right to Restriction
Request that certain processing be limited. (Art. 18 GDPR)
Right to Portability
Receive your data in a machine readable format. (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to Object
Object to processing based on legitimate interests. (Art. 21 GDPR)
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time. (Art. 7 GDPR)
Since the Core app collects no data, most of these rights will confirm: "We hold no personal data about you." Where any information is processed — such as a contact form message — these rights apply in full.
Built around privacy
Privacy is not a feature. It is a design principle. QuraLYT is developed with a preference for local processing, minimal data collection, transparent practices, and user control wherever reasonably possible.

We regularly review our privacy practices and security measures to ensure they remain aligned with our values, legal obligations, and your expectations.
